Great range of meals from snack size to main at this place, but a special favourite is the range of small servings on offer, allowing diners to mix and match. A bit like a tapas bar in that sense, but this place is also a fairly flash full-blown restauarant. It has a sort of Tardis quality - bigger inside than it appears on the outside, goes back a long way and has a second level - but the decor is rather warmer than the Dr Who set. Staff are also much friendlier than the sci fi monsters who sometimes serve at inner northern restaurants. To continue the sci fi link in a rather loose fashion, it’s just down the road from the marvellous, renovated Westgarth Cinema. So Denn is a great place for before or after the movies - but then it’s really only one of many great little places along that stretch of High St, Westgarth these days.
