Water tanks - any good deals, any word on claiming rebates?
Published 7 months, 2 weeks ago in Uncategorized.We want to stick in a couple of water tanks. Anyone got some advice on a good company to go thru and any general tips? Also, what’s the deal with claiming rebates from the government and the councils?

I was advised second hand information that our Council increased the rates accordingly because of improved capital value. May I suggest you check this aspect out and then check the paperwork before and after the event. My informant told of the disconnected tanks once he got the bill, which led to a revised account. I checked it back with the Water authority and they have no knowledge of such Council practices but being cynical!
Most tanks I think don’t get Council approval for installation anyhow….Haven’t checked the rules for myself….Good luck.
Bunnings are as good a place as any, and they can also suggest a plumber who will make the rebate application for you. Same with Stratco, and many major plumbing supply companies.
I heard that once you register your tank for a rebate, the Government have you on their list to charge some sort of tax on them… ??? Anyone know about that?
