I’d go for a board game! They’re great fun and something the whole family can enjoy. There’s a shop in the city called Mindgames which stocks a lot of board games, or even have a look in K-mart, Target or a toystore. Don’t go for something overly complex or inane and luck-based… classics like Scrabble and variations on them like Upwords are hard to beat.
If the age range is too wide for a board game to be feasible, a home made hamper of delicious treats is a nice idea. Darrell Lea Rocklea Road is cheap and delicious.
Also Socrates and Australian Geographic stores are quite good if you’re really stuck… the stuff in there doesn’t really fill any particular need, but it has novelty fun value and some of it could be considered useful.
Good luck!
I was going to sugest board games to. On the hamper thingy kid’s love lollies. What about some family type movies on dvd.
I was in collins bookshop last night. They have these beck of cards that have places to go to in melb. That might be an idea for you.
Great ideas guys, thanks. Have a great Christmas!!
