As far as live music goes it just doesn’t get better than the Port Fairy Music Festival. The phrase “something for everyone'’ applies, with everything from rock to folk to chanting monks. Local, national and international acts over four days. Family friendly if you want - or there’s always the Guinness Tent. And a great little town to host it, with beautiful scenery and good pubs!

If you are anywhere close to the Dandenong Ranges, try The Basin Music Festival. Location- The Basin

I agree - the folkie is the best fest around - if you want to be inspired by music - love music - love relaxing while you hear music you’ve never heard before…the folkie is perfect! Beautiful town, beautiful vibes, beautiful music…I could go on…but *sigh* there are definately good times to be had all round at the folkie!
yes the folkie rocks!! but i was bemoaning not living in koroit any more… was so much closer! who did everyone see play??
theshadow: I think loren is playing at The Basin music festival this weekend, should be good!
also, the Mortlake Buskers Festival is on this weekend.
Then….comes the Point Nepean festival, the V Festival, East Coast Blues and Roots…where does it end?/!
So much music, so few weekends.
In the beer tent at Port Fairy Music Festival (really a performance venue, but also the only licensed part of the festival) they used to line up endless pints of Guinness along the bar and as far as I could tell hardly anyone paid. Now they have some sort of ticketing system and everyone pays. I’m sure the festival profits have soared ever since.
